Another pilgrimage
Thursday, October 23rd, 2008It was in early August. I gave myself a reason to register, just to be a substitution in order to fulfill the dream of the other three people. This reason gradually emerged and evolved to be another, became more concrete and real – This is my pilgrimage.
“Every road goes to Rome”. I know that I don’t have holidays to go to Santiago de Compostela, or Rome, or the other road of pilgrimage. I am just walking a road of myself, no more, no less. This reminded me the journey I’ve had five years ago. I didn’t know if I could finish. Or I might just lay down in the wild, being a pile of dry meat, the nutrition of soil… Anyways, I finished, alive.
This time is easier and shorter of course in comparison of a 243-mile journey. This is just 100km, about 65miles in metrical scale. Also, I am not alone this time. I no longer fear of darkness as I have tasted it. I no longer care of the distance when i know that I would be one step closer to my destination in the movement of my legs.
This may be my last pilgrimage, since my dear wouldn’t let me to be crazy twice or more. I won’t be walking too fast because of something called teamwork. Anyways, I would enjoy it…I mean I suppose to enjoy and it should be enjoyable.
This is also a fund raising for Oxfam. It’ll be great if you give your extra to the poor.
